This is a great lens for wildlife. It is a bit heavy, still you can manage even without a tripod. I have a basic nikon D3200. But coupled with this lens it captured some really good shots of birds this season. You’ll love the Dof and clarity and I’m sure will get hooked on to this lens like me. I loved the overall experience and strongly recommend that you give it a shot.

For the price of Rs. 1500 per day, you do get a lens with a reach of 600 mm. I used it for a wildlife photography trip to Jhalana. Got some stunning images of leapords. You need to use a beanbag to rest the lens while shooting, its too heavy to handhold for a long time but that is because of the reach. Focussing also is a tad slow but what can you expect its not a prime lens. All this is acceptable, the only real con is the lens goes to 6.3 when you go beyond 500 mm.. So its a good light lens — unless you have a full frame camera that can give minimal noise at 6400 ISO when the light is fading
